How to descale a Jura WE8

Descaling your machine is part of its maintenance: the Jura WE8 will gradually accumulate scale with use and will automatically prompt for descaling. In this article, you will find the steps to follow in order to descale your Jura WE8.

Good to Know

Here are a few important points to consider:

• Make sure to remove the water filter before descaling.
  
• Once descaling is complete, empty the water tank and replace it with a new filter.
• Descaling takes approximately 40 minutes, but you do not need to stay next to the machine during the process.
• We recommend using Jura or Solute descaling tablets.

Step by Step Instructions

Once your machine indicates the need for descaling, follow these steps:

1. Press the "P" button (for programming) on your machine.
2. The machine will display the approximate descaling time (40 minutes). Press "Start".
3. It will remind you to use Jura or Solute products. You can press "Next".
4. A message will appear: "Empty drip tray". Remember to empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container. Then, place them back in position.
5. A message will appear: "Add descaling agent". Remove the water tank and empty it.
6. Dissolve 3 Jura or Solute descaling tablets in 500ml of water in a container. This may take a few minutes. Pour this solution into the empty water tank.
7. Don't forget to place an empty container under the fine foam frother spout.
8. Press the "Next" button. The "Machine descaling" process will begin, and water will flow several times.
9. Once the process is interrupted, a new message will appear: "Empty drip tray". In addition to emptying the drip tray, you can also empty the coffee grounds container. Place everything back in position.
10. Descaling is complete. You can now rinse the water tank and refill it with fresh water.
