Basic Principles

• You can interrupt the preparation of a beverage at any time by touching the symbol of the current coffee specialty.
• You can select the coffee intensity before and during grinding. Two intensities are available: "normal" (1 bean) or "strong" (3 beans).

How to fill the bean container?

When the bean container is empty, follow these steps:

1. Remove the aroma preservation cover from the bean container.
2. Remove any impurities.
3. Fill the bean container with coffee beans.
4. Close the bean container.

How to fill the water tank?

To enjoy a good coffee, it is important to change the water daily. Please fill the tank only with fresh flat water (not milk, sparkling water, or other liquids).

1. Remove the water tank.
2. Rinse it with cold water.
3. Fill the water tank with cold water.
4. Place it back in position.

How to prepare a hot beverage with coffee beans?

Your Jura A1 offers you three preparations:

The procedure is as follows:

1. Place a cup under the coffee spout.
   
2. Touch the symbol of your choice to start the preparation.
3. Adjust the intensity by selecting "1 bean" (normal intensity) or "3 beans" (strong intensity), before or during grinding.
4. The preparation flows into your cup.

How to prepare a hot beverage with ground coffee?

You have the option to use a second type of coffee, such as decaffeinated coffee, thanks to the ground coffee container.

Good to know:

• Never pour more than one dose (= one heaping teaspoon) of ground coffee.
• The beverage must be prepared within a minute, otherwise the Jura will interrupt the operation and switch back to using coffee beans.
• If you have not poured enough ground coffee, symbols will flash, and the Jura will interrupt the operation

To prepare a cup of coffee using ground coffee:

1. Place a cup under the coffee spout.
2. Open the ground coffee container. The symbol for ground coffee lights up
   
3. Place the funnel for ground coffee on the ground coffee container.
4. Pour one dose of ground coffee.
5. Close the ground coffee container.
6. Touch the symbol of your desired preparation.
7. The coffee flows into the cup and stops automatically.

How to adjust the grinder?

The adjustment of the grinder located in the bean container should never be used. If the grind fineness seems inappropriate to you, please contact us, and we will assist you.
