How to descale your Jura A1?
Written By Floriane Mailleux, last update onDescaling your machine is part of its maintenance. However, if you replace the filters on time (which is obviously recommended!), the descaling procedure will be rarely required.
Good to know
Some information to be taken into account:
- Make sure to remove the water filter before descaling.
- When the descaling process is complete, make sure to empty the reservoir before reinserting a filter.
- Descaling takes approximately 40 minutes, but you don't need to stay near the machine during the procedure.
- We recommend using Jura or Solute descaling tablets.
How to descale your machine?
When the "descaling" symbol lights up:
- Press and hold the symbol for 2 seconds.
- The symbol for the coffee grounds container lights up: empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container.
- Reinsert them.
- The symbol for the "Water tank" blinks.
- Remove the water tank and empty it.
- Completely dissolve 3 Jura or Solute descaling tablets in a container containing 500 ml of water. This takes a few minutes.
- Fill the empty water tank with this solution.
- Reinsert it.
- The "descaling" symbol lights up: press this symbol.
- Four symbols flash, and water flows directly into the drip tray.
- When the operation stops, the "coffee grounds container" symbol lights up.
- Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container.
- Reinsert them.
- The "Water tank" symbol lights up: remove the water tank and rinse it thoroughly.
- Fill it with fresh water and reinsert it.
- The "descaling" symbol lights up: press this symbol.
- Four symbols flash, and water flows directly into the drip tray.
- When the "coffee grounds container" symbol lights up, empty the drip tray and the grounds container.
- Reinsert everything.
- Congratulations! Your machine is descaled.
