How to replace Melitta Purista's filter?

Your machine requires regular maintenance, and it likes to remind you of that. When the filter symbol appears in red, it's time to change it.

Text Instructions:

Prerequisite: The machine is turned on and ready to operate.

First Step

1. Press and hold the "Service" button for more than 2 seconds to enter setting mode 1.
2. Press the "Service" button until the filter program symbol appears.
3. A coffee bean lights up.

Second Step:

1. Press and hold the "Service" button for more than 2 seconds to start the filtration program.
2. The Filter Cartridge symbol flashes until the end of the filtration program.
3. The Drip Tray symbol lights up, indicating that you should empty the drip tray and the used coffee grounds container.

Third Step:

1. Empty the drip tray and the used coffee grounds container.
2. Replace the drip tray without the used coffee grounds container.
3. Place the used coffee grounds container under the spout.
4. The Water symbol lights up, prompting you to remove the water tank and insert the water filter cartridge.

Fourth Step:

1. Remove the water tank.
2. Empty the water tank.
3. Insert a new filter cartridge into the water tank (see Fig. 15).
4. Fill the water tank.
5. Replace the water tank.
6. The filter cartridge is rinsed with water.
7. Water flows into the drip tray.

Fifth Step:

1. Empty the drip tray and the used coffee grounds container.
2. Replace the drip tray and the used coffee grounds container.
3. The filtration program is complete.
4. The Filter Cartridge symbol turns off.
5. The machine is turned on and ready to operate.
