How to use your Jura E4 on a daily basis?

So, you are the proud owner of a Jura E4 coffee machine? Congratulations! We have prepared some guides to help you learn how to use and maintain your Jura E4 machine for enjoying great hot beverages every day.

How to prepare a hot beverage?

Under the display screen, you will find four visible buttons on your E4 machine: "Programming mode", "Small cup", "Large cup", and "Coffee strength". Before preparing your coffee, press the "Strength" button: the more coffee beans displayed on the screen, the stronger your coffee will be. Note that the E4 remembers your last chosen strength for the next preparation.

Next, click on the cup size you desire, and the predetermined amount of coffee will flow into your cup!

To initiate two preparations, press the "Cup" button twice for your choice. Be aware that two cycles will run consecutively. You have a few seconds to change your cup between the two cycles. :-)

The coffee will automatically stop, and your Jura machine is ready for use. However, if you wish, you can stop the coffee preparation at any time by pressing any button.

To use hot water, turn the selector (located in the upper right corner of the machine) to the water symbol. When you have enough water, turn the selector to the "off" position.

How to adjust the grinder?

The grinder adjustment (located to the right of the ground coffee funnel) should never be used. If you find the grind size inappropriate, please contact us, and we will assist you.

How to fill the water tank?

Daily maintenance and hygiene are essential to ensure consistently perfect results in your cup. Therefore, you should change the water daily. Only pour cold water into your machine.

1. Open the water tank lid,
2. Remove the water tank using the handle and rinse it with cold water,
3. Fill the water tank with fresh water and place it back,
4. Close the water tank lid.

You may notice that a water filter has already been installed by a Javry professional. When the filter symbol turns red (on the machine's display), it's time to replace it. To perform this procedure, you can refer to this article.

How to fill the coffee bean container?

When your machine no longer has enough coffee beans, it will indicate this by flashing the coffee bean symbols. This means it's time to refill the container!

1. Remove the aroma protection lid;
2. Remove any impurities or foreign bodies;
3. Fill the coffee bean container and close the aroma protection lid.

How to use ground coffee?

The Jura E4 has a ground coffee funnel located under the black flap (top of the machine, behind the bean container).

Some basic principles for ground coffee:

Never pour more than two level scoops of ground coffee.

If you haven't added enough ground coffee, the symbol to the right of the coffee beans will flash, and the E4 will interrupt the operation.

The coffee should be brewed within 60 seconds of adding the ground coffee. Otherwise, the E4 will interrupt the operation and return to "Ready for use" mode.

To make a cup using ground coffee:

Press the coffee strength button multiple times until the ground coffee symbol illuminates;

Open the flap and add one level scoop to the funnel;

Close the flap;

Press the cup size button for your desired quantity;

Enjoy your delicious coffee!

This mode is very convenient for decaffeinated coffee lovers. ;-)

How to properly maintain your coffee machine?

To ensure the proper functioning of your coffee machine, several steps should be followed:

• Cleaning your coffee machine, which is required every 180 coffees (or 80 rinses at startup);
• Replacing the water filter as soon as the filter symbol turns red;
• Descaling your coffee machine when prompted by the machine.
