How to clean your Jura E4 ?

Does your Jura E4 machine need cleaning? We explain how to do it here!

Good to know

1. Your Jura machine needs to be cleaned after 180 coffees (preparations) or 80 rinses when switched on. Don't worry, there's no need to count: your machine will inform you in due course!
2. All the necessary products for the maintenance of your machine are available in our online shop. 
3. It is important not to interrupt the cleaning program once it has started, as this could damage your machine or even make it unusable.
4. A cleaning takes about 20 minutes, but it will only take a few minutes of your time (the machine cleans itself).

First of all, note that the condition to launch a cleaning is that the corresponding symbol is illuminated, and that the water tank is full. 

1. Press the "Program Mode" button for 2 seconds to start the cleaning program.
2. The symbol for the drip tray is illuminated.
3. Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container and replace them.
4. Place a container under the coffee spout.
5. Press the "Coffee strength" button.
6. The coffee bean symbols will light up on the display, and water will flow from the coffee nozzles.
7. The operation will stop and the ground coffee indicator will light up.
8. Open the ground coffee hatch (behind the bean container on top of your machine) and put a cleaning tablet in the funnel.  
9. Close the lid.
10. Then press the "Coffee strength" button.
11. The coffee bean symbols will light up and water will flow through the coffee nozzles several times.
12. The operation stops automatically and the drip tray symbol will light up. It is now time to empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container.
13. Put everything back in place.
14. The symbols in the center of the display (3 coffee beans + 1 ground coffee) will flash three times: the cleaning is finished! Have a good coffee :-)
