How to descale a Jura Giga X3?

Descaling your machine is part of its maintenance: the Jura gets scaled as it is used and automatically requires descaling. In this article you will find the steps to follow to descale your Jura Giga X3.

Good to know

There are several things to keep in mind:

1. Be sure to remove the water filter before descaling.
2. When descaling is complete, empty the water tank and replace a new filter.
3. Descaling takes 40 minutes but you should not stand next to the machine during the procedure ;-)
4. We recommend the use of Jura or Solute descaling tablets.

Once your machine indicates that it needs to be "descaled", press "Descale machine".

1. The message "Descale" will appear: click on it. Then click on "Start".
2. Click again on "Start".
3. A message appears: "Empty the drip tray". Remember to empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container. Then put them back in place. 
4. A message appears: "add product". Remove the water tank and empty it.
5. Dissolve 4 JURA descaling tablets in a container with 800 ml of water. This may take a few minutes. Place this mixture in the empty water tank.
6. The message "Press Rotary Switch" is displayed.
7. Place an empty container under the hot water outlet and under the coffee outlet.
8. Press the Rotary Switch. The "descaling of the machine" starts. The water flows through the different nozzles several times.
9. Once the operation stops, a new message appears: "empty the drip tray". In addition to emptying the drip tray, you can also empty the coffee grounds container. Put everything back in place.
10. A message appears: "fill the water tank". Remove the water tank and rinse it thoroughly. Fill it with fresh water and replace it.
11. Press the "Rotary Switch": the descaling cycle continues.
12. When it stops, you are prompted to empty the drip tray and replace it.
13. The descaling process is complete!
