How to descale a Jura GIGA X8 ?

Descaling your machine is part of its maintenance: the Jura scales up as it is used and automatically requires descaling. In this article you will find the steps to follow to descale your Jura GIGA X8.

Good to know

There are several things you should know: 

1. Be sure to remove the water filter before descaling.
2. When descaling is complete, empty the water tank and replace a new filter.
3. Descaling takes 45 minutes but you should not stand next to the machine during the procedure ;)
4. We advise you to use Jura descaling tablets to avoid damaging your machine.

To descale your Jura GIGA X8 machine, simply follow the instructions in the video below.

The guide in text

1. Press "Descale machine".
2. Press "Descale". 
3. Press "Start". 
4. Press "Start" a second time. 
5. Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container and replace them. 
6. Remove the water tank and empty it. 
7. Dissolve 4 JURA descaling tablets in a container with 800 ml of water (this may take a few minutes).  
8. Fill the empty water tank with the descaling solution and replace it.
9. Place one container under the combination outlet and another under the hot water outlet.  
10. Press the Rotary Switch. When the "Descale machine" button is pressed, water flows several times, directly into the drip tray and from the hot water outlet and the combination outlet. 
11. After the operation has been interrupted, empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container and replace them.   
12. Empty the containers and replace them under the combination spout and the hot water spout.   
13. Remove the water tank and rinse it well.   
14. Fill the water tank with fresh water and replace it.
15. Press the Rotary Switch. Water flows several times, directly into the drip tray and from the hot water outlet and the combined outlet. 
16. Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container and replace them. The welcome screen appears
17. You have a clean machine for drinking good coffee :)
