How to set up your Jura GIGA X8?

When installing and setting up your Jura GIGA X8, it is very important to:

• Place the GIGA X8 on a horizontal surface that is water-resistant.
• Choose a location away from excessive heat sources and ensure that the ventilation slots are not obstructed.
  
  

During the initial setup, you need to adjust the water hardness. If you are unsure of the water hardness, you can determine it as follows:

• Use the Aquadur test strip (provided).
• Briefly hold the test strip (1 second) under running water. Shake off the excess water.
• Wait for approximately 1 minute.
• Read the water hardness level using the coloration on the Aquadur test strip and the description on the packaging.

WARNING!!! Coffee beans treated with additives, ground coffee, or freeze-dried coffee can damage the grinder.

How to set up your Jura GIGA X8?

1. Fill the bean container only with untreated roasted coffee beans.
2. Remove the aroma protection cover.
3. Remove any impurities or foreign objects from the bean container.
4. Fill the bean container with coffee beans and close the aroma protection cover.
5. Connect the power cable to the machine.
6. Plug the power plug into an electrical outlet.
7. Switch on your GIGA X8 using the power switch located at the back of the machine.
8. Your Jura GIGA X8 has been installed, now it's time to configure it.

How to configure your Jura GIGA X8?

1. Open the cover of the On/Off button.
2. Press the On/Off button Q to switch on the GIGA X8.
3. To display other languages or change the language, swipe the selection list with your finger from top to bottom (or vice versa) until the desired language is centered, then press "Save."
4. Enter the current date (format YYYY/MM/DD) and then press "Save."
5. Select the time format ("24 h" or "AM/PM") and then press "Save."
6. Enter the current time and save it.
7. Swipe through the display to adjust the water hardness setting, then press "Save."
8. Place a container under the combined dispenser and another under the hot water dispenser.
9. Remove the water tank and rinse it with cold water.
10. Open the filter holder.
11. Insert the filter cartridge into the water tank with a slight pressure.
12. Close the filter holder, and it will audibly click if closed correctly.
13. Fill the water tank with fresh water and put it back in place.
14. Water will flow from the combined dispenser and hot water dispenser directly into the drip tray.
15. Empty the drip tray and put it back in place.
16. Place a container under the combined dispenser (the rinsing will stop automatically), and the home screen will appear.
17. Your GIGA is ready to use :)
