Jura W8 - Descaling

Descaling your machine is part of its maintenance: the Jura accumulates limescale over time and automatically prompts for descaling. In this article, you will find the steps to descale your Jura W8.

Good to Know
Please consider the following information:

• Make sure to remove the water filter before descaling.
• Once descaling is complete, empty the water reservoir and replace it with a new filter.
• Descaling takes approximately 40 minutes, but you do not need to stay next to the machine during the process.
• We recommend using Jura or Solute descaling tablets.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. If a filter is placed in the reservoir, remove it.
2. On the home screen, press the button at the bottom right for 3 seconds.
3. Press the 'Descaling' button.
4. The duration and tips will be displayed.
5. Press 'Start.'
6. A message will appear: "Empty the drip tray."
7. Remove both trays: drip and coffee grounds.
8. Empty and replace both trays.
9. Open the lid located above the reservoir.
10. Remove the water reservoir and empty it.
11. Pour 600 ml of water into a container.
12. Dissolve three tablets in it.
13. Pour the 600 ml of water into the reservoir.
14. Place containers under the spouts.
15. Press the 'Next' button.
16. Descaling will start automatically.
17. The descaling process takes approximately 20 minutes.
18. Empty the drip tray: repeat steps 7 & 8.
19. Empty the containers under the spouts and replace them.
20. A message will display: "Fill water tank."
21. Empty and rinse the reservoir thoroughly.
22. Fill it with fresh water.
23. Descaling will continue. Press 'Next.'
24. The cycle will continue, and the machine will rinse.
25. "Empty drip tray" will display: repeat steps 7 & 8.
26. Descaling is complete, and the home screen will display again.
27. If your machine had a filter, replace it.
