How to clean your W4 ?

Does your Jura W4 coffee machine need cleaning? Or you want to change its place? 

Good to know

1. Your Jura machine will prompt a cleaning after 180 coffee preparations or 80 rinsing cycles at start-up.

2. You can either wait for the machine to request cleaning or start it manually by pressing the “P” (programming) button.

3. Javry recommends using Jura or Solute cleaning tablets for the process. Using other products may damage your machine.

4. It’s important not to interrupt the cleaning program once it has started, as this could also damage the machine or even render it unusable.

5. A full cleaning cycle takes about 20 minutes, but it will only require a few minutes of your time — the machine does the rest automatically.

This illustrated guide shows you how to clean your coffee machine step by step.

Text instructions

Once your machine displays “Clean machine”, follow these steps:

1. Fill the water tank.

2. Press and hold the 0 button for about 2 seconds to open the JURA Cockpit dashboard.

3. Press the “Cleaning” button.

4. Press “Start” — the message “Empty grounds” appears.

5. Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container, then reinsert them. The display shows “Cleaning.”

6. Place a container under the coffee spout.

7. Press “Continue.”

8. Water will flow from the coffee spout.

9. The process pauses and displays “Add tablet.”

10. Open the lid of the ground coffee filler funnel.

11. Add one JURA cleaning tablet into the filler funnel.

12. Close the lid.

13. Press “Continue.”

14. Water will flow several times from the coffee spout. The message “Empty grounds” appears again.

15. Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container once more, then reinsert them.

16. Cleaning is complete. Time to enjoy a great coffee! ☕
