LUA - User guide and maintenance

So, you are the proud owner of a De Jong Duke LUA coffee machine? Congratulations!

Here is how to maintain it properly!

Daily maintenance

Daily maintenance will help ensure the quality of your drinks and the proper functioning of the machine. See page 48 of the manual for detailed information.

For daily maintenance, follow these steps:

  1. Open the door (see Opening the door on page 51) of the machine.

  2. Rinse the mixers and the brewer (page 55).

  3. Clean the waste bucket (page 56).

  4. Clean the drip tray (page 60).

  5. Clean the cup holder (page 58) in the door.

  6. Clean the waste bin of the base cabinet (page 59).

  7. Refill the ingredient canisters (page 83).

  8. Enter the ingredient canister levels – optional (see Enter ingredient canister levels – optional on page 89).

  9. Close the door (page 51).

  10. Clean the exterior of the machine (page 90).

  11. Clean the touchscreen – optional (page 91).

  12. Check that everything is working properly by preparing a drink as a test.


Weekly maintenance

At least once a week, perform a more thorough maintenance of the different parts.

Weekly maintenance will help ensure the quality of your drinks and the proper functioning of the machine. You will find more information on page 49 of the manual.

For weekly maintenance, follow these steps:

  1. Open the door (see Opening the door on page 51) of the machine.

  2. Clean the mixing system (page 62).

  3. Remove and clean the brewer (page 70).

  4. Clean the brewer with the cleaning tablet (page 73).

  5. Clean the waste bucket (page 56).

  6. Clean the drip tray (page 60).

  7. Clean the cup holder (page 58) in the door.

  8. Clean the waste bin of the base cabinet (page 59).

  9. Clean the cold water outlet nozzle – optional (page 79).

  10. Refill the ingredient canisters (page 83).

  11. Enter the ingredient canister levels – optional (see Enter ingredient canister levels – optional on page 89).

  12. Close the door (page 51).

  13. Clean the exterior of the machine (page 90).

  14. Clean the touchscreen – optional (see Clean the touchscreen – optional on page 91).

  15. Check that everything is working properly by preparing a drink as a test. Each step is described in detail in the following sections.



Monthly maintenance

Finally, once a month, perform a wash of the coffee brewing unit. To do this, make sure to carefully follow the steps shown image by image in the guide on page 50. Monthly maintenance will help ensure the quality of your drinks and the proper functioning of the machine.

  1. Open the door (see Opening the door on page 51) of the machine.

  2. Clean the mixing system (page 62).

  3. Remove and clean the brewer (page 70).

  4. Clean the brewer with the cleaning tablet (page 73).

  5. Clean the waste bucket (page 56).

  6. Clean the drip tray (page 60).

  7. Clean the cup holder (page 58) in the door.

  8. Clean the waste bin of the base cabinet (page 59).

  9. Properly clean the cold water outlet nozzle – optional (see Properly clean the cold water outlet nozzle – optional on page 81).

  10. Clean the cartridges (page 78).

  11. Refill the ingredient canisters (page 83).

  12. Enter the ingredient canister levels – optional (see Enter ingredient canister levels – optional on page 89).

  13. Close the door (page 51).

  14. Clean the exterior of the machine (page 90).

  15. Clean the touchscreen – optional (see Clean the touchscreen – optional on page 91).

  16. Check that everything is working properly by preparing a drink as a test.
