How to clean a Jura WE8

Your Jura WE8 machine needs cleaning? Or do you want to clean it before moving?

Good to know

1. Your Jura machine requires cleaning after 180 coffees (preparations) or 80 rinses when switched on. You can either wait until the machine asks for a cleaning or force a cleaning by pressing the "P" button (programming).
2. Javry recommends the use of Jura or Solute detergent tablets to clean your machine. The use of other products could damage your machine.
3. It is important not to interrupt the cleaning program once it has started, as this could also damage your machine or render it unusable.
4. A cleaning takes about 20 minutes, but it will only take a few minutes of your time (the machine cleans itself).

Once your machine displays "Clean Device", press the "P" button: 

1. By pressing the "P" button, you will start the cleaning program. Press the "Start" button.
   
2. Press the "Next" button until your WE8 asks you to empty the coffee grounds container.
3. Empty the coffee grounds container and the water container and put them back in their place.
4. The message "cleaning" is displayed. Place a container under the coffee spout and another one under the fine foam nozzle.
5. Press the "Next" button.
6. The message "cleaning in progress" appears for a few moments: water is flowing from the coffee spout. The machine then asks you to "add a tablet".   
7.  Open the ground coffee lid (at the back of the machine) and add a Jura or Solute cleaning tablet to the funnel. Close the lid.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           
8.  Press the "Next" button.  
   
9. The "machine cleaning" process starts: water flows from the coffee spout and the fine foam nozzle several times. The operation stops automatically.
10. The message "Empty coffee grounds container" is displayed. It is time to empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container. Put everything back in place.
11. The cleaning is finished. Enjoy your coffee :)
