How to descale a Jura X6

Descaling your machine is part of its maintenance: the Jura X6 accumulates limescale over time and automatically prompts for descaling. In this article, you will find the steps to descale your Jura X6.

Good to Know

Please consider the following:

1. Remove the water filter before descaling.
2. After descaling, empty the water reservoir and replace it with a new filter.
3. Descaling takes approximately 40 minutes, but you do not need to stay next to the machine during the process.
4. We recommend using Jura or Solute descaling tablets.

Step by Step Instructions

Once your machine indicates that it needs descaling, follow these steps:

1. Press the "P" button (for programming) on your machine.
2. The machine will display the approximate descaling time (40 minutes), and you can press "Start."
3. It will remind you to use JURA or SOLUTE products. Press "Next."
4. A message will appear: "Empty the drip tray." Remember to empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container. Then, put them back in place.
5. A message will appear: "Add descaling agent." Remove the water reservoir and empty it.
6. Dissolve 3 JURA or SOLUTE descaling tablets in 600ml of water in a container. This may take a few minutes. Pour this mixture into the empty water reservoir.
7. Don't forget to place an empty container under the fine foam frother spout under the coffee dispenser.
8. Press the "Next" button. The "Machine descaling" process will start, and water will flow several times.
9. Once the operation pauses, a new message will appear: "Empty the drip tray." In addition to emptying the drip tray, you can also empty the coffee grounds container. Put everything back in place.
10. A message will appear: "Fill water tank." Remove the water reservoir, rinse it thoroughly, fill it with fresh water, and replace it.
11. Press the "Next" button: the descaling cycle will continue.
12. When it stops, you will be prompted to empty the drip tray and put it back in place.
13. Descaling is complete!
